Venezuela appealed to the Supreme Court in March, asking the high court to review a Third Circuit decision that gave Crystallex permission to seize shares in PDV Holding Inc., which owns Citgo and is a subsidiary of the state-owned oil company PDVSA, as part its bid to extract payment for the award. Venezuela also asked for the solicitor general to provide his views on behalf of the United States, Crystallex said that Venezuela is only asking for the Supreme Court’s review in another attempt to stall payment of the award.
