CARACAS (Reuters), 22nd October 2019 –  The Trump administration decided to extend the waiver that allows Chevron to operate in Venezuela despite the sanctions imposed by the administration. The company, which has been in Venezuela for almost 100 years, is the last major US oil firm with a presence in the country. Other companies such as Schlumberger, Halliburton, Baker Hughes and Weatherford also received waivers from the sanctions for another three months through 22nd January.
